Curing is the first step in extrusion production, usually involving the mixing of raw materials and their plasticization. For silicone sealing strips, curing raw materials (such as compounded rubber) need to be added with vulcanizing agents, color mother, etc. These materials are mixed continuously in the curing machine to achieve uniformity, and finally form a uniform rubber compound. For rubber sealing strips, after the raw rubber and chemical raw materials such as plasticizers are mixed, they need to be kneaded once or multiple times to ensure the uniformity and stability of the rubber compound.Extrusion molding stageExtrusion molding is the process of forming the prepared rubber compound through the rotation and pressure of the screw in the extruder, allowing it to pass through the die and take on the desired shape. Extruders are typically divided into the feeding section, compression section, and extrusion section. By adjusting the rotational speed and pressure of the screw, the temperature and degree of plasticization of the rubber compound can be controlled. The semi-finished products after extrusion molding are usually soft rubber strips and require further processing.Sulfurization stageAfter extrusion molding, the rubber strips need to undergo vulcanization treatment to achieve the final shape. Vulcanization can be accomplished through a high-temperature oven or a vulcanization tank. For instance, silicone sealing strips are usually vulcanized for 2 hours in a 180 oven, while rubber sealing strips may be vulcanized in a vulcanization tank ranging from 220 to 300. During the vulcanization process, the molecular structure of the rubber strip changes, thereby enhancing its strength and durability.Post-processing stageAfter vulcanization, the rubber strips may require further processing, such as cooling, cutting, winding, or surface treatment. For example, silicone rubber sealing strips may need to be wound with protective layers after vulcanization, while rubber sealing strips may need.
